Kings and Queens Bowling

KINGS AND QUEENS Mission is to provide a recreational opportunity for special needs athletes to learn and practice bowling skills, social skills and develop physical attributes of good health.
To learn how to participate in bowling events, to work well in a group setting, to increase their physical stamina and enjoy the camaraderie of new friends. To have good, clean healthy fun and social interaction with their community members and their peers, within their own community.
What our program goals and objectives are:
  • Form teams of 2 bowlers and match them with 2 buddies and 1 adult acting as a supervisor per group.
  • Teach 5 specific bowling skills via practice.
  • Start position, holding the ball correctly, releasing correctly, moving back off the deck correctly, learning how to score and take turns, all are items they will be exposed to.
  • Teach the basics of proper bowling positions to prevent injuries and aid in conditioning.
  • Learn turn taking, good sportsmanship, adaptive skills that will enable the bowler to more fully participate in a recreation manner ie gym class setting or in community recreational programs.
  • Engage the competitive experience by keeping score every week in the ability group.
  • Finish the season with a trophy day and award certificates for the volunteers participation.
Who: Special Needs Athletes ages 5-21 (and older) who want to learn a new recreational sport with supports.  
Where: Bowlero - North Brunswick  
When: For 8 Saturdays starting in February and ending in March  
Time: 10:00am - 11:30am
 
Community Service:

We will be offering community service hours during our program.
